At Shillim, a retreat and institute near Pune, India, we have established nurseries five years in advance of construction. This not only supplies the resort with construction materials, plantings and food; it also provides an additional source of income to the business and jobs for the residents of the surrounding communities. The rice fields will be shifted to organic practices; providing an opportunity for local farmers to learn organic farming methods. |
